Writing Everyday for 30 Days

I have a confession to make before I start. When I decided to write everyday for 30 days, I didn’t take into consideration that January has 31 days! So, from now on this is the writing everyday for 31 days challenge. I just thought of writing everyday for a month and forgot that January has 31 days and didn’t realize that until just today. I needed to get that off of my chest. Okay I feel better so let’s get into this.

When I look back at the beginning of the month, it feels so far away. It feels like I’ve been doing this for way longer than I have. I think back to the fact that when I started this challenge our Christmas tree was still up. It is crazy how differently time passes when you are keeping track of each day that passes. I am glad that I started off the new year this way because it gave me something to do everyday that kept me focused. It is hard to believe that it is February tomorrow and after that it will almost be spring. I enjoyed doing something everyday. As you know by now, I really like having some kind of control in my life to keep me grounded. Doing the same thing everyday definitely gave me a sense of control.

I am impressed that I was able to come up with a new idea everyday. It was easier than I thought it would be to come up with a subject out of nowhere. Some of my posts were directed at specific events that inspired me to write them, others were completely random. I am also impressed that I didn’t miss a day throughout this. I had some days where I really didn’t feel like it, or I had had a bad day and just wanted to go to bed. I guess that was a big part of the challenge. Not only do you have to find the inspiration to write, but also the motivation to even open your laptop. I learned that we don’t always feel like doing something that we love, but once I convinced myself to do it I felt so much better. We don’t always feel like doing what is best for us, even if we know it will be helpful in the end. I am glad that I pushed through the urges to not write if I was tired or had a bad day.

If you aren’t into writing, I would recommend doing this challenge with something you feel passionate about. Think of something that never feels like a chore to you and try doing it at about the same time everyday and see if you feel more grounded. I am so grateful to anyone who has read these throughout the month. Thank you so much for supporting me in what I love to do. With that being said, I will not be writing a story tomorrow because I have completed the challenge! If you enjoyed my writing please keep checking in because I will write more in the near future. I hope you continue reading my work going forward. As always, thank you so much for reading.
